This book by author Don Marek describes the work of the Stickley Brothers and the Forest Craft Guild coppersmiths and several related copper shops. It is illustrated with 228 photos of jewelry, lighting, desk sets, jardinieres and other items of interest including 48 pages in color.

Don Marek has written Arts and Crafts Furniture Design, The Grand Rapids Contribution (1987) and curated the exhibit of the same title at The Grand Rapids Art Museum. Mr. Marek has also written introductions to Limbert and Stickley Brothers catalog reprints and several magazine articles on the Arts and Crafts movement in Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids Art Metalwork 1902 - 1918 is available in two forms, a trade edition of the book and a special edition.

The special edition is hand bound, numbered and signed by the author. This edition is limited to 250 copies and varies from the trade edition by the inclusion of wood engravings and letterpress work by Chad Pastotnik of Deep Wood Press, Mancelona, Michigan and the use of handmade papers for the cover, doublures, and letterpressed sections. The special edition binding was also overseen by Chad Pastotnik at his Deep Wood Press and consists of the the following: 

1. Quarterbound in handmade University of Iowa paper "PC4" (natural) over "PC4G" (grey green) covered, beveled boards. 

2. Twinrocker handmade paper, "Rustler" Doublures.

3. Additional letterpress printed introduction, colophon and chapter heads done in hand set type of Bernhard Booklet on Hahnemuhle Gutenberg paper.

4. Two wood engravings and five line cuts by Chad Pastotnik.

Both the University of Iowa Center for the Book and Paper Arts and Twinrocker are recognized for quality and experience in their field and it is a pleasure to include their papers as part of this volume.
